Diode Test: In this mode, the probe tip contact the positive terminal of the diode, connect the auxiliary ground lead to the negative terminal of the diode, the screen will display the forward voltage drop, indicates the forward bias. If exchange the probe tip and auxiliary ground lead, the screen will not display the voltage, indicates the reverse bias. Signal Circuit Testing: Once you extract a DTC from the vehicle and realize that troubleshooting begins with some kind of sensor circuit, there is a quick test you can perform to verify the code. Testing Trailer Lights and Connections: While the tool in DC Voltage mode, clip the auxiliary ground lead to the trailer ground , probe the contacts at the jack and then apply voltage to the probe tip. Frequency and Duty Cycle Mode: The car's electronic control system communicates with various sensors via digital signals. When the car fails, you need to use the instrument to check whether the frequency of the signal or the duty cycle is abnormal. Press the Mode button to enter the menu, and press the Down button momentarily to place the cursor in the frequency mode, and press the Mode button momentarily to enter the frequency waveform display mode. Press the Mode button to enter the menu, and press the Down button momentarily to place the cursor in the Duty Cycle mode, and press the Mode button to switch to the waveform display. 3. Buzzer and LED light are Switchable: When you measure the voltage DC, if the voltage is 0V, the green indicator light will be on and the buzzer will sound twice; if the voltage is above 5V, the red indicator light will be on and the buzzer will sound once.
