The book includes 7 of the 26 illustrations Tim Kirk did for his Masters in Illustration. The book is a nice survey of Tolkien and his life, work, and love of languages. This book is in VG+ condition. There is some spotting and two small holes on the back cover. The holes do not go through the boards. There is a bit of staining (water?) at the top and bottom of the spine. This unclipped (no price) jacket is VG / VG+ condition. There is a staining on the inside and a 2 1/2 inch closed tear on the front bottom corner and a 2 inch tear at the top. There is a gift inscription on the inside front cover. The book has 4 square corners and other than noted, there is no writing or marks in the book.This is not a remainder, book club or ex-library copy. The binding is straight and tight.
