Description: Here is an absolute lovely specimen of one of my favorite minerals, Elyite. I absolutely love the color or this mineral and even though it only occurs as tiny crystals, it is an awesome mineral nonetheless. The Altemannfels is a large quartz cliff with quartz and baryte veins hosting galena and secondary lead minerals and it is famous for its lead minerals such as Chenite and Elyite that formed from medieval fire-setting. This is where they would burn fires along areas of the veins and then pour water on it to more easily extract the lead ore. The specimen features 3 small clusters of Elyite sprays. They are small and are best viewed with a 'scope'. Comes mounted in a Mikon Plexi case and Labeled. Approx. 1x1 cm
