Today the choice is simple because in a single product you can have all the functionalities (traction control, anti wheelie and quick shifter) in one device. GRIPONE 5 is the last generation of traction control systems for motorcycles. It includes the functions of traction control (to keep under control the spinning of rear tyre) and anti wheelie control (to keep the front wheel just few centimeters off the ground). By the optional gear shift sensor kit, GRIPONE 5 is able to work as quick shifter. It is the only one on the market that uses a sophisticated (internal) inertial platform in combination with the RPM signal. This characteristic lets GRIPONE 5 be incredibly fast in reacting to the rear tyre spinning. LET SEE SOMETHING MORE TRACTION CONTROL. The traction control works using a sophisticated algorythm that evaluate the tyre load, the lean angle (by the internal inertial platform) and the wheels speed. When these three parameters do not match the correct range, GRIPONE 5 reduce the power to avoid the sliding of rear tyre. The speed sensors signal is extremely accurate in the spinning calculation and the final result is amazing. ANTI WHEELIE CONTROL. As well, the anti wheelie control use two different set of strategy. GRIPONE 5 evaluates the pitch angle and the pitch rate by the inertial platform. As soon the pitch angle is bigger then a certain value, GRIPONE reduce the power. By the speed sensors , the anti wheelie apply the second strategy estimating the front and rear speed and their accelerations. One more time at this stage GRIPONE combine both strategies to evaluate the propper power reduction. “DOUBLE” MEANS BETTER. In this case we can say that double is better. We can rely on two separated group of strategies for traction control and two separated group of strategies for anti whellie control. The control is carried out by reducing the power delivered to the rear wheel. During acceleration, your motorcycle will not only be easier to ride (without annoying swaying) but it will also be safer. ANTI WHEELIE The acceleration’s limit of your motorcycle is represented by the detachment of the front wheel from the asphalt. The best possible acceleration is obtained when the front wheel is slightly raised from the ground, but not too much. For this reason, the anti-wheelie control is very important for optimizing the acceleration exiting the curves. With the anti-wheelie you can keep the maximum possible acceleration constant. QUICK SHIFTER With the (optional) GEAR SHIFT SENSOR KIT, GRIPONE ISIDE can work as quick shifter. It means with only one device you can have on the bike a reialable traction control, an anti wheelie control and a quick shifter to improve the acceleration. THE BASE KIT GRIPONE 5 is easy even when you want to choose your best package. We offer one base kit and few specific optionals. BASE KIT. The base kit includes the ECU (with internal IMU), the plug& play wiring loom, the remote light (that could be placed around the dashboard to advise you about the functionalities of GRIPONE), two speed sensors, the RPM pick-up, the USB cable and the user manual. You can downloade for free the software to manage the ECU via USB. The kit includes everything you need to install the system on your bike. The Inertial Motion Unit is included inside the the ECU. OPTIONALS ABS SENSOR INTERFACE. If your motorcycle is equipped with an ABS system, instead of installing additional speed sensors, you can use our ABS SENSOR INTERFACE so as to detect the signal from the ABS sensors and bring it into the GRIPONE ecu. One ABS SENSOR INTERFACE is able to detect the speed from one ABS speed sensor (so you need 2 interfaces for one GRIPONE ISIDE). GEAR SHIFT SENSOR KIT. For some models of motorcycle, we offer an additional kit to use our GRIPONE 5 as quick shifter. Instead of buy another device like a stand alone quick shifter, you can simply add our GEAR SHIFT SENSOR KIT and use the internal functionality of quick shifter. The GEAR SHIFT SENSOR KIT includes a load cell (pressure sensor) and the additional wiring loom. The load cell is the sensor that must be mounted on the rod of gear shift pedal. It is able to detect the pressure of the rider to the pedal and activate the up shift (without release the gas and without using the clutch). The additional wiring loom is an extension of the plug&play loom of GRIPONE 5. The wiring loom of GRIPONE 5 is connected to one coil only. The additional wiring loom let you connect GRIPONE 5 to all the coils. REMOTE BUTTONS. By the remote buttons you can easily change the level of traction control, between 3 levels (from amateur rider’s level to professional rider’s level) and level of anti wheelie control between 3 levels. Scrolling from level 1 to level 3, you can increase the amount of control during the acceleration phase. However, the buttons are not the only way to set GRIPONE. Through the software and the USB cable you can modify any configuration parameter as you like, obtaining a customized calibration from your system. *
