Description: Hi, I purchased this guitar around 2008 or so and haven't ever needed to set it up for my purposes. I've seen this guitar only once recently in a dark dakota red on the back of the 1978 J. Geils Band album called Sanctuary. The somewhat crude shims to elevate neck and truss rod out of its intended pocket is the way the guitar came to me. It plays just fine for what I was using it for but I imagine it could be set up differently by someone who knows what they are doing. The frets have always been flat and leveled but playable. Electronics might be scratchy and in need of cleaning. The pickups work! I've never looked inside the guitar or taken pickguards off. The "Concert Quality" tag I'm not sure of the origin or if its original to the sixties but has been on the headstock since I purchased the guitar. I got the model and brand name out of the History of Japanese Electric Guitars book by Frank Meyers which showed this model in an advertisement from 1969. Its a nice teardrop guitar that someone might have a lot of fun touching up and setting up. I've always liked the layout of the controls and the look of the two pickguards and beveled body. The tremelo works very well. If you are interested and plan to set up the guitar I could always take the neck off the body to fit it all in a smaller box for shipping. Thanks for looking!
