"Kalanchoe Serrata" Magic Tower/Alligator Plant/Mother of Thousands SHIPPING

Description: "Kalanchoe Serrata" Magic Tower/Alligator Plant/Mother of Thousands Succulent[This listing is for shipping only, unless you are interested in larger sizes, which I sell on a sister listing for local pickup only. See my other listing if you are interested in the local pick-up option.]This is a very hardy flowering succulent that grows quickly and can multiply rapidly, but it cannot withstand northeast winters. (It dies at extended exposures significantly below freezing, at around 28 deg F from my experience.) However, it can be considered invasive if planted in Zones 9B and hotter, so if you live in such a location, please keep this plant potted and indoors. The photos I posted are real plants currently in my possession and for sale. They do not represent ALL variations of this plant. Every plant looks unique, and perfection should not be an expectation. Some may have a leaf missing, or some may be growing to the side. If I am concerned about a big imperfection, I will send you a photo beforehand to clear it with you first. One guarantee: once you have your own plant for a few months, it will make babies, and you can make your perfect plant however you want from that point on! You will probably have 100+ tries available with how many offspring your plant will make in just the first season. Just drop the babies onto the surface of the soil. Keep plants potted in well-draining medium (soils with some washed play sand/course horticultural sand/ wood chips/tiny pebbles/lots of perlite mixed in all work well). Allow to dry out between waterings. Keep babies in bright light with an East to Southeast exposure until they mature a bit (~3 inches tall), then slowly acclimate to more sunlight. Babies, if they grow quickly, can make their own offspring in 3 months or less under the right conditions. Babies make great gifts for friends and family. As a mature adult, it loves at least 8 hours of direct sunlight outdoors, but can be pretty thirsty during heat waves. Appreciates many hours of direct or indirect sunlight in the winter. It will grow 1-2 ft per growing season until it reaches 3 ft tall and either topples over, or is supported by its offspring growing around it, so you may want to use a pot made of heavy material, and/or oversize the pot a bit. Can become a bush inside of one year if you allow it to multiply. It can be finicky if disturbing the roots when transplanting, so it is best to not fully loosen the dirt when repotting to a larger pot. Hitch-hiking babies in other pots survive transplanting only if you do not severly injure the roots. In most cases, a broken stalk with offshoot 2-3 more stalks in it plce at the point of injury. This plant is amazing to say the least. Flowers seem to come around late fall/winter, once it is brought indoors for the winter, and flooms especially heavy under the right grow lights. The mother plant bloomed many, MANY light pink flowers that are shaped like the photo I posted, and stayed on the plant for almost 4 months! (Dec-Apr) The mother plant was decaptated by a sorm and grew 3 wildly fouring stalks from the severed location, then went into full bloom. The decaptated head of the plant was stuck into the ground and continued to also bloom and make its own roots. The current state of the mutant mama can be seen in the last two general listing photos. Crazy, I know.If you have a pet that likes to eat random plants, this may not be the best option for you. Its cousin, the regular Kalanchoe (which looks very different from the species in this listing) has been known to be toxic to animals if ingested in high quantities, but there is little information about the Kalanchoe Serrata from this listing, so purchase at your own risk. That being said, even grass is considered toxic to animals, and they eat it for one reason - when they are trying to throw-up. I have rarely heard of an animal getting mortally wounded from eating a plant. I have had many cats over 3 decades, with many "poisonous" plant varieties around them all the time. They never once got sick from anything, and they cared not to do anything other than ignore them. That being said, you know your animal's personality best, so go with your gut on this one.Any questions - just ask!
