Description: Vintage USMC KaBar from the estate of a local Marine Combat Veteran who served in the South Pacific in World War Two. This is one of several items I'm listing from his estate. All of the edged weapons in his collection were stored well-oiled and wrapped in oil cloth, and are being offered in As-Found Condition. This knife has a clean, straight, sharp edge. The maker's name looks like it was removed from the ricasso at the factory, although some items were "anonymized" in the field. The guard, leather stack handle, and pommel are tight and in Very Good to Excellent Condition. The Boyt sheath is in Excellent Condition, and is probably harder to find than the knife. It is clearly marked "U.S.N." and "Boyt -43-." This sheath is the hard-to-find "9 staple" version. The leather on the sheath is soft and supple, without the brittleness often found in items of this vintage. Together, the knife and sheath represent a WWII time capsule that is increasingly difficult to find in this condition. Please look over the pictures and let me know if you have any questions.
