Description: QL-A2……..Quartz lock direct drive with auto return at the end of play. On board is a Stanton RS500DJ cartridge with a fresh, conical stylus. This combination sounds very nice for this price point. I disassembled this machine and did a meticulous deep cleaning…..cleaned the switches..added fresh dampening oil…lubricated the spindle, buffed the cover….and sound/functions tested this for two complete albums. The original feet are in good shape—two of the rubber washer type feet bottoms are missing. Everything works as designed—there’s a slight hitch in the tonearm movement when it gets back to the cradle. Condition is very good throughout with a few marks on the deck…a couple scratches to the front trim plate..…the platter has oxidation spots (pics) but overall appearance is quite nice….the mat is soft and pliable…….the cartridge shows plenty of play left…the cover is very good as well with some surface swirling and scratches. …So, taken altogether this is a beautiful piece…surprisingly heavy…features a good cartridge. If you’re looking to get into vinyl for the first time…or to jump back in, and you don’t want to spend a ton of money….…take a close look here.
