Description: Nice real photo occupational postcard. Not sure of occupation. Writing on back says: "John Nizza, disappeared on Mt. Shasta--Never found." Nizza was a shoe cobbler, moved to the Mt. Shasta CA area in early 20th century, and climbed Mt. Shasta dozens of times. In July 1965, at age 80, he tried to climb Shasta again, alone, and disappeared. Not sure they ever found his body. This photo was taken in 1910-20s period in San Francisco by Whigham Photographers. Postally unused; CYKO stamp box; lightly bumped corners, light soiling.
