Description: The best cashmere came from Scotland in the 1970s and 80s, when Scots who’d been working with other animal hair fibers were first exposed to cashmere as they served in the occupation forces in India. Most of that cashmere is very warm, the legend is it first was used for Scots golfing in the notoriously blustery weather on the greens. This sweater is what I call ‘indoor cashmere’ – you won’t suffer heatstroke if you wear it inside but it is very much soft, supple and sweet. The remaining 35% of fiber is silk, which gives it the strength to be knit so thinly and also takes great color. 46” around underarms, waist etc to the ribbed band at the hem which measures 30” and stretches nicely to 38”. 29” long from nape to hem including 2.5” of ribbed band at the hem. 22” across shoulders and sleeves are 26” long.
