JOHN HUSTON - TYPED LETTER SIGNED 01/27/1972 - HFSID 259127 JOHN HUSTON John Huston sends a typed letter to Joan Crawford about how producer John Foreman, while a young MCA agent, used to take her to the theatre. Typed Letter Signed: "John", 1p, 8x10. Los Angeles, California, 1972 January 27. To actress Joan Crawford. In full: "How good to hear from you! What a wonderfully thoughtful person you are. I've been talking about you a good deal lately with John Foreman, who was the producer on my last picture. He told me how, when he was a young agent, he and two other young agents with the MCA office used to take you to the theatre - and how the three of them would play musical chairs in the theatre seats for the privilege of sitting next to you and holding hands. I'll be in California for another month or six weeks. Is there any chance of your coming this way? The last time I set eyes on you was at a German lawn party, which is pretty unlikely, come to think of it - but if I had to go to another one to see you, I would." FOREMAN produced and HUSTON directed The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean (1972), The Mackintosh Man (1973), The Man Who Would Be King (1975) and Prizzi's Honor (1985), for which Huston and Forman were nominated for Academy Awards for Best Director and Best Picture, respectively. Huston received the Oscar for Best Director in 1948 for The Treasure of Sierra Madre. File nicks at left edge. Lightly creased. Ink stains at blank left margin. Overall, fine condition.
