Description: Up for bid is a rare piece of “Sushi” Tugtupite from Kvanefjeld Greenland. This was named for its pink color in daylight which reminded people of Tuna Sushi. The Tugtupite fluoresces an exceptionally intense Red under Short Wave UV. The matrix of this specimen is very unusual. There is an unknown that fluoresces Blue-Grey under SW and MW UV and Blue-White under LW UV. There is another unknown that fluoresces Green SW and MW. First picture is under SW UV. Second picture under MW UV. Third Picture is under LW UV. Fourth picture is under White Light. This piece was collected in 2004. Last picture shows the “Sushi” vein. This vein was completely mined out and there was nothing left when I visited the location in 2006. As far as I know, nothing similar has been found since.
