Description: Collectable Plate The following listing is for a Collectable Religious Relief Plate "The Nativity" Maker: Studio Dante di Volteradici. Appears to have been cast with alabaster compositon in Tuscany, Italy under the auspices of the Museo del Duomo of Florence, Italy. Marked: Above information and Printed (pamplet) in U.S.A. Plate number 214. Plate limited edition number of BC2130 Material: Alabaster composition and paper product for pamplets and misc. Features: The following Religious plate of The Nativity by the Master Alberto Santangela is the Second issue in the Ghiberti Doors series of collector plates. This relief plate is said to have faithfully copied by hand alone from the Florence Baptistery North Doors, originally completed in 1425 A.D. by Lorenzo Ghiberti. This plate is hand-cast and finished in ivory alasbaster and appears to have faux antiquing to achieve the warm french-vanilla color. This picture represents John 3:16 in reference to the virgin of birth of Jesus in a manger (cave) among the animals due to lack of lodging in inns in the town of Bethleham (city of David's birth). The series contains 15 plates in all. I only own 8 of the plates. This listing is for one plate and the others may still be available in our store. Each are numbered and have certificates. You're more likely to gain more from the pictures than I can explain it. Size: Plate is approximately 9 inches (22.5 cm) in diameter and greatest depth is 1.75" -2 inches (4.5cm-5cm) approximately. Age: 1984. Condition: Used and stored in an attic. This plate does not have a box. It may have factory flaws like dots of different color or may have rubs. The metal back center panel may have scratches or small dents. Please use zoom feature when viewing photographs which are part of the description.
