Description: Japanese Black Pine Pre-Bonsai in a 12 Inch Plastic Trainer Our Pre-Bonsai Japanese Black Pines are from two different crops that were started in 2005 and 2007. They were started from seeds sent from Japan. In their second year the trunks were wired and left to grow in their containers until November of 2023. In January of 2024 they were repotted into their current training containers from the original 15 gallon root maker pots. We kept low branching specifically so we do not have to graft them in the future. These should have excellent branching that will be ready to wire up next spring. The pine pictured here is the exact pine you will receive, it is in our bonsai soil mix (red lava, black lava, akadama, and hyuga pumice). It is well established and has excellent roots.
