An earlier jacket, re-priced by the publisher for this copy ($3.95 is blacked out, new price printed below). A rare vintage copy of this acclaimed work of children’s fantasy by the author of Charlie & The Chocolate Factory / The Fantastic Mr. Fox / Matilda and others. Jacket is now protected in new archival sleeve but with moderate wear, including small stains, rubbing to jacket faces and chipping, creases and small tears around the edges. Front board creased but remains fairly straight now, and with a few small stains and bumped corners. Binding is faintly a split in a few gutters but spine is straight and binding remains fairly strong on the whole. Previous owner’s inscription on front endpaper, pages otherwise clean. See photos.
