The 31 inch long blade is 1 and 5/8th inches wide at forte. The left adorned with a relief chiseled panel of sprays of flowers in addition to the maker’s mark. The right decorated with an 8 inch long panel divided into a 4 and 3/4 inch panel of relief chiseled calligraphy topped with an engraved crescent moon and star and the lower panel ensuite with the left one. The spine with an 8 and 1/2 inch panel of leafy meander. The classic talwar hilt entirely covered in thick relief silver with foliate decoration on a pounced ground. The blade with 12 and 1/2 inch clip point is of fine Damascus steel. The whole sword in very fine condition throughout. Leather covered wood scabbard is in very good overall condition. A truly exceptional talwar that once translated may prove of even greater significance than the work of the swordmaker’s art it is. * Please refer to the photographs of this item when assessing its condition.
