Checkered Pau Ferro Wood: Grips are made from Pau Ferro, which is a premium, solid wood; medium Walnut color. Surface of the wood has been etched with a checkered pattern in order to cut down on slippage. Finger Groove Style: Two pieces come together seamlessly in the front of the gun to form a resting place or molding / grooves for the three fingers below the pointer finger. Provides more stability for firing. Uses the existing factory grip screws. Will Fit: Colt 1911 full size pistols where distance is 3 1/16" from center of top screw hole to center of bottom screw hole. Will NOT Fit: Colt 1911 compact pistols where distance is 2 5/8" from center of top screw hole to center of bottom screw hole.
