Description: HMS VICTORY WOOD This is a small original piece of Wood taken from H.M.S. Victory, which was Admiral Lord Nelsons Flagship at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. During restoration of the Ship in the 1990's this small piece of Wood cut from a larger section which was removed due to decay/damage. This small piece of wood is an off-cut from the Original Victory Wood used to make items for the HMS Victory 2000 MILLENIUM COLLECTION and other HMS Victory Items. Only good sound wood was used to make items and so edges of wood sections, stained-marked pieces and damaged parts were cut off. It comes with a certificate which will give the size and weight of the small wood piece and short history of HMS Victory. This small piece of original HMS Victory Wood is roughly square shape. The piece is approx. (max.) 0.7 - 0.9 cm x 3.5 cm x 3.9 cm. See PHOTO's. This wood piece is smooth cut on all sides being cut from a section removed that had damage. One side has slight dark staining which may be from near by oxidation (rusting) of an iron bolt or large nail. The oxidation stains the wood, there darker the colour the nearer the rusting iron item. An interesting piece from a Historic Ship. nsm 110 Other related and similar items can be found in my e-bay shop.
