Description: The_Authentic_Arrowhead_Store HARDIN CENTRAL ILLINOIS This fantastic HARDIN came from Central Illinois and was part of the Jim Marlen Collection. Jim was a friend of ours and I bought several pieces out of his collection. It is no brainer authentic. It shows nice use and great patination. It is made from a classic piece of Burlington chert. It has a great base and no modern damage. Hardin points are Early Archaic in age, ranging form 7,000 to 10,000 years old. An ancient artifact like this with collectors information will definitely make an awesome addition to any authentic collection. COLLECTION HISTORYJim Marlen was a well known Illinois Native American Indian artifact collector. He was especially interested in Early Archaic cultures of Illinois. Jim was also known for his Fluorite Statue out of Kentucky depicting a kneeling man. He was well known by his friends and family as an avid duck hunter and lover of Native American artifacts. He is an Illinois state champion duck caller and used to run the River King Oil Company in Waterloo, Illinois. Jim passed away on April 27, 2022 at 78 years old. We bought a few pieces of Jim's collection from a mutual friend of Jim's. He was a great man with a wonderful collection and will be sadly missed. Size 3.31 inches in length.
