Description: A Victorian walking stick. The stick is inscribed Hans Sloane 1887 and has a figure of a leaf. Hans Sloane died in 1753 but his natural history collection formed the basis for the British museum. The stick is very high quality, it is hardwood and has a strip of inlay down the length, this is hard to see but the photos do show it in close up. The stick is possibly a commemorative piece issued by the British Museum. The stick measures 33.5inches 85cm in length.
