Description: Presented is a handsome pair of antique bronze candlesticks, dating to the mid to late 1800s. We believe these are likely of Dutch origin, but they could be continental European as well. Each candlestick is made in a stately fluted column form, with egg and dart decoration around the base and top of each “column” as well as the larger square stepped foot at the bottom. The wax drips/bobeches are removable, for ease of cleaning. These are heavy weight, high quality pieces with a great look to them. This pair is in excellent condition. These candlesticks would benefit from a good cleaning, as we opted to leave them mostly as we acquired them; there is green and lighter color wax residue and dust in the crevices. Some variations in tone of the patina, notably where there has been wax, but no corrosion. There are no splits, no dents, no breaks, and no repairs. Both candlesticks are stamped with a mark that looks like PG, curiously reversed. Each candlestick measures about 10 3/8 inches tall and about 4 1/2 inches square at the base. The total weight for the pair is 2.34 kilograms, or 5.16 pounds. -jm Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
