Description: VINTAGE (1500s) IRON BALLESTER (CROSSBOW) BOLT WITH SIDE STRAP & IRON FASTENING RIVET. This interesting piece of early combat history is over 7.5" long and almost 1" wide at the shaft entrance. During its working life it would have been attached to a heavy wooden shaft and fired from a ballester (crossbow). It is believed to have been used in the 1573 siege of Edinburgh Castle in Scotland. It weighs 2.4 ounces, dates back to the 1500s and is in very good condition considering it's age and use. This is out of a gentleman's collection in Edinburgh.
