Description: They are in overall fantastic condition with the exception of a couple minor blemishes, shown in last photos - what looks and feels possibly like a knick in the edge of the hood on one monk, and a tiny knick on the top point of the hood on the same monk - both quite minimal. I don't know what stone this is! I have looked, and I have only confused myself more. Listing after listing calls them something different - onyx, alabaster, marble, jasper, quartz - so I won't even guess. But the coloring on these two is unique and gorgeous. There are warm, taupe-y neutral tones throughout the veining. I really think it's beautiful. They each weigh approx 4lb 10oz - they're heavy. Interesting details: a very shallow etching/gesture of a text in their hands, dotted detail on the robe, and a curious concentric circle rune on their chests I imagine the stone was polished; it is mostly smooth except for some of the etching and grinding where they were attached to the angular base. They are unmarked. No idea of their vintage, though I believe they are. Again, the color - it's pretty special.
