Description: Hallcraft Bowl Lugged Oval 12" X 9" X 4" Eva Zeisel Floral Bouquet 1952-1957 A beautiful HALL China HALLCRAFT Lugged OVAL BOWL 11 3/4" X 8 3/4" X 3 3/4", Designed by EVA ZEISEL, Floral BOUQUET pattern on High White w/No Trim, circa 1952-1957, from East Liverpool, Ohio, USA DESCRIPTION: We found this beautiful Eva Zeisel oval lugged bowl in our search for other Hall pieces for our collection. This pattern has the floral sprays with the blue, green, yellow, pink & purple color palette. This is enhanced by the bright high white of the Hall pottery. The lugged design with the sweeping handle makes this so impressive. The overall quality of the design is quite professional as is expected from Eva Zeisel. Please check our eBay store for more pieces of this pattern. CONDITION: While this bowl is classified as used, its condition is superb. There is no damage or defects. We can find no chips, nicks, scratches, cracks, hairlines, or repairs. We do see a few very minor light utensil marks in the bottom of the bowl that are visible only when the bowl is turned at just the right angle in bright light. There is no wear to the decals and (of course) no crazing. Please carefully inspect the photos to see how good the condition of this bowl is. DIMENSIONS: The overall length handle to opposite side is 11 3/4". The width of the bowl is 8 3/4 7/8". The height to the top of the handle is 3 3/4 " while the side height 2 1/4". HISTORY/MARKS: When the East Liverpool Potteries Company was dissolved in 1903, Robert Hall, one of the principals, formed Hall China Company. After his untimely death in 1904, his young son, Robert Taggert Hall took over and made it his mission to rediscover the long lost process from the Ming Dynasty of producing a non-lead based glazed china using a single fire process. He succeeded by 1911 creating the craze-proof finish for which Hall China became famous for over 100 years. Hall China remained in the extended Hall family until they merged with Homer Laughlin China Company across the river in Newell, West Virginia, the manufacturer of Fiesta. Hall China has now been sold to Homer Laughlin across the river in Newell, West Virginia and their operating kilns have been moved while most of the original facility on Anna Avenue is being demolished. The Bouquet pattern was produced from 1952-1957. The stamp on the bottom of this is cited on the website marks4ceramics as mark #9 that was used 1950's-1990's.
