Perfect for around the dining room table or next to the fireplace... or anywhere that you need seating space, for that matter. These benches can be stained or varnished... We recommend applying an exterior stain to the bench for outdoor use. There is usually some checking in the logs (small cracks) which will not diminish the strength or durability of your bench. 'Checking' is typical of this type of pine logs. We choose to work with lodgepole pine as it grows naturally in the forests of NW Montana and is known for its superior strength to weight ratio. It is also straighter, thus making it easier to work the raw wood into the highest quality furniture possible. Our lodge pole pine is harvested in the Kootenai National Forest via a very selective process. Skilled woodsmen select each tree with an attentive eye toward the quality, straightness and size of each specimen. After felling, each piece is hand carried to the road to ensure both the tree and the environment remain unharmed.
