Description: Extremely rare early Hahn Hofmechanicus pocket watch with date complication. I'm estimating the date to be 1780-1810 based on other examples of their work found online. Watch will run but amplitude is extremely low, requiring a shake or puff of air to get going again. Date hand is present but broken off near the post. Crystal is missing. Dial condition is quite good for its age, especially considering it likely lost its crystal ages ago. Watch was likely made by the legendary Philipp Mathaus Hahn or one of his sons that took over the watch and clock business after his death, or possibly an apprentice like Jacob Auch. There is a ton of history available online regarding Hahn and his sons and apprentices, particularly regarding the area of Stuttgart. Sold as is, see photos for condition. Being sold for parts / restoration. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out! Please check out my profile for more watches, jewelry, coins and more! Shipping: Due to the value of this particular watch I will be sending it insured via Priority with signature required.
