Description: ...Introducing the A.S. JCM800 Tube Preamp. Don’t Compromise What’s Important… During the awesome 80’s, a new sound was emerging on L.A.’s Sunset Strip. Fueled by big choruses and even bigger hair, this televised rock movement may have relied more on technical gusto than artistic integrity. Nonetheless, the playing had seriously evolved and the players demanded a more articulate amp that could keep up with their complex rhythms and over-the-top soloing. They found a reliable partner in the newly released 100 watt Marshall JCM800. Soon enough, just about every rock video shown on MTV would showcase a 20 ft. wall of JCM800 stacks hovering over spandex cladded youth armed with pointy guitars. Although the ridiculous hair and getups would soon recede into the annals of Rock n’ Roll history, The JCM800 remained a staple with many hard rock and metal acts. Its aggressive tones and versatile master volume make it a go to amp on many of today’s biggest stages. Known for an articulate crunch with just the right amount of top end sizzle and bottom end kerrang, this modern sounding Marshall is the company’s best seller. The A.S. JCM is a faithful reproduction of that British amplifier. A real tube preamp powered by two 12AX7’s running at high plate voltage. The circuitry mimics the big amp’s with high quality components and meticulous craftsmanship. In addition to a compliment of Bass, Treble, and Middle EQ controls, a wonderfully voiced Presence knob keeps your high-end intact. This is not a distortion pedal to be run into the front end of an amplifier. It is a multipurpose amp solution that can be run into the effects loop of an amplifier or into a power amp and speaker cabinet. The JCM also serves as an excellent recording or direct solution by using the speaker simulated out or your own favorite IR loader (this method works great with many of the newer guitar-specific FRFR powered cabs that are hitting the market.) TECH • Two tubes 12AX7 running at High Anode Voltage (same as in original amp) • All Analog Low Noise Signal Path • Bass, Middle, Treble, and Presence Tonestack with Gain and Master Volume • Internal Toroidal Power Transformer - no any 9 - 12 v power adapters needed• WIMA Capacitors • Boost • Preamp Output • Record output (Cabinet Simulated output) • "Cold" bypass • 5,1 inch x 7,5 inch • Crafted one at a time by hand There are 120v - 230v versions in stock.
