Description: The 700E is the best product that Lionel ever made. It is an accurate scale model of Joshua Lionel Cowan's favorite engine, the New York Central Hudson. Introduced in 1937, it set the standard of die cast excellence that was not matched or exceeded by Lionel or anyone else for more than 50 years. To achieve the detail of the prototype, there are many hand applied parts. This piece has been professionally restored to Like New condition. The paint matches the matte black Lionel used in the Prewar period, and the engine and tender have been re-stamped with the proper silver ink. The engine was disassembled, the 85 year old hardened lubricant was removed, all drive gear parts cleaned, and fresh lubricant was installed. The engine now runs smoothly like a fine Swiss watch. All the die castings of this 700E are exactly the same as when they left the factory in 1940. The frame is straight with an 1/8 inch or more clearance of the pilot (cowcatcher) over the middle rail of the track. 700E's are my specialty, and this is as fine an example as any I have ever had. I guarantee it. TCA 89-29420LCCA 12139
