Featuring a peaceful pastoral scene of a split rail fence at pond edge with a line of trees in the distance, painting is signed ANNA PERRY SMITH, and dates to the late 19th century. Done in muted, natural green tones, fence and large bushes reflect off the water -- image has a dreamy, soft quality. Condition is very nice with no damage - no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs, foxing, stains, etc. - glass is wavy and contains tiny bubbles - nice and early - back no longer retains dust paper, but original twine hanger is still knotted in place. I could not find much about the artist - she is listed with AskArt as an American artist who painted in the late 19th century.
