Description: She's not a true Belton-type doll as she doesn't have a closed head, but she sure has the look of one! Some would also say she has a "Bru Face". She has been in my collection since the early 2000's where I purchased her from one of the first online Theriault auctions! Hard to believe that was over 20 years ago. She is approx. 17" tall. Bisque socket head on early composition loose ball body with straight wrists. Her bisque head is without damage except there is the tiniest spot on her lower neck that possibly could be a chip, but I believe was in the making. She has HUGE almond shaped original blown glass sleep eyes that have been set in the original rocker. They were set because there is a piece missing in the eyeball so you wouldn't want her eyes sleeping and see a hole! See picture. She has loads of finely painted long eyelashes surrounding those awesome eye-cuts. Multi-stroke brown eyebrows. Her closed mouth is luscious with a huge white highlight center in the middle of her lips. Pierced ears, she is lacking earrings. Then we come to her wig.....oh my! It is antique human hair, I believe it is original to her, and so full of curls! One small curl is tapped to the pate as it came loose from the wig cap. It truly is just exquisite! Her composition and wood body does have age wear as you can see in the pictures. It does retain the original finish. Straight wrists. Please view body pictures to see the details, they can be enlarged. She is wearing what I purchased her in, nothing has changed. Her dress is simply gorgeous! It is a wonderful pink and creamy white striped satin with vertical pleats, teal trim and lace embellishments. It does have age to it, but I hesitate to date it. Her slip is antique and she has vintage socks and shoes. One strap broken at the snap. Truly a gorgeous doll who will stand out in any collection.
