Description: Copper, gold, silver mixed precious metals ore in quartz with seam split in the middle. Natural as found ore from the historical registered mine. Nice green color spotting of the oxidation zone, bright dark true green Bayldonite from the copper contents in the ore around and in the middle of the divided seamed quartz. Photos show random filings in nitric and muriatic combined acids, silver, 14, 18, 22 k gold, platinum testing acids The acids have set and ran together after 20 minutes, the large pieces you see on the testing stone feel into the test when positioning the stone for the photo. The crust of this ore wraps around the quartz as well has a running seam in the middle. Nice looking display. Historical registered mine history can be found online. Which I do recommend that interested buyers look into. It has historic value along with the ore value. It has no magnetic properties. Measurements from the longest points of the ore shape are 3-1/2 inches x 2-3/8 inches x 1-7/8 inches. Acid test indicates a high-grade gold in this ore. Approximately 1 lbs. in weight. 1800s Ore Knob Copper Mine, North Carolina. Long closed filled mine shaft that no longer produces and is very limited in specimens.
