Description: This is a vintage antique sample of barbed wire fencing. This sample features a Joseph F. Glidden patent, dated November 24, 1874. This wire is called "Glidden's Aluminum Two Point Barb Wrapped Around One of Two Steel Lines" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 332-B). This wire features two twisted together round line wires. Line wires are steel. Barbs are two pointed and are made from round aluminum wire. Barbing wire is wrapped twice around one of the line wires. Sample shows light oxidation. There are five barbs. Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered. There is some bending of barbing points. There are no broken, or missing barbing points.
