I was fortunate to attend Glen Winterscheidt's (1929-2020) estate sale in San Diego a few years ago and it was incredible to see how much illustration art he created. He was a designer for GM and a member of the AMERICAN SOCIETY OF AVIATION ARTISTS. I was able to purchase a few pieces that I liked. The original auto designs went to an auction house.This is an original illustration watercolor painting on heavy board of a pair of Grumman Wildcat fighter aircraft. Vibrant colors still and in excellent vintage condition for its age and the fact that it was never framed. There were hundreds of paintings strewn about the house. It was packed.... and expensive. The whole thing measures about 21" x 14" and the actual artwork measures 16" x 8". Would look incredible framed! I have a few more of these and this particular painting is titled and signed on back by Mr. Winterscheidt with his old Royal Oak Michigan address.
