Description: 1930s GIRARD STAKE BED PRESS STEEL RED TOY TRUCK WITH ELECTRIC LIGHTS This toy truck is in its original condition. The headlights have been modified, the front bulbs and battery are missing. The tires are original embossed with “Girard USA Balloon” on the outside edge. The Cab and bed appear to be painted red with the bottom portion retaining more color and the top and sides showing more wear. The front fenders are bent slightly. DESCRIPTION - It expresses early American craftsmanship and showcases dovetailing and tongue and groove construction (those dovetails go all the way through the block). The wood has a wonderful warm golden patina with some discoloration and signs of wear in the cutting area typical of a block of this age.
