Description: GIANT MICROBESTRILOBITE (Asaphiscus wheeleri) One of the most successful life-forms to ever appear on this planet, they thrived for about 300 MILLION years. They had already gone extinct before the dinosaurs ever lived! Some ancient peoples around the world valued these fossils, in a few cases even believing they possessed special, mystical powers. Today, they remain a favorite fossil for hunters and collectors. They have even been recognized as the "Official State Fossil" of Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. While "modern" day Horseshoe Crabs bear a similar resemblance, they are at best VERY distant relatives, even if part of the same family. Ever since the first few batches, they have been coming in as the lighter, 2-tone version (no convertible models yet!) as shown on the left.
