Description: The “Germania” type stamp depicts a personification of Germany as a country. It was issued for the first time in 1899 with inscription REICHSPOST and shaded background . In 1902 the inscription changed in DEUTSCHES REICH but it kept the shaded background. In 1916 with the 2pf grey appeared the unshaded background issued on other values later on. Last issue was the 10mark overprinted on 75pf purple in 1921
