Description: This is a rare advertising card (flyer) promoting the two-week, Post-Broadway Tour of the WINTER GARDEN COMPANY musical entertainment "VERA VIOLETTA" at the Lyric Theatre in Baltimore, Maryland beginning November 25th, 1912. (The production opened November 20th, 1911 at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City and ran for 112 performances before going on the road.) ..... The musical starred GABY DESLYS, "the highest paid and most talked about woman in the world" and the cast included two young performers who would become legendary stars of stage and screen: AL JOLSON and MAE WEST. Other featured actors were HARRY PILCER, DORIS CAMERON, BILLIE TAYLOR, ERNEST HARE, JAMES B. CARSON, KATHLEEN CLIFFORD, BARNEY BERNARD, FLORENCE DOUGLAS, JOSE COLLINS, MELVILLE ELLIS, STELLA MAYHEW, CLARENCE HARVEY, MAIDIE BERKER, CAMILLE TRUESDALE, DOROTHY SCHERER, LEW QUINN, the GORDON BROTHERS, CHARMAIN FURLONG, HARRY FISHER, JAMES GIORGI, BABE DAKIN and JANE LAWRENCE. CONDITION: With the exception of a corner crease and light edge wear, this rare flyer is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
