Description: Frog Tree Yarns was a not-for-profit company that helped talented artisans/workers receive well-deserved, reasonable compensation for their efforts and promoted fair trade. Their funds were used to support educational and environmental projects, charitable organizations and volunteer groups in Latin America. The owners of Frog Tree Yarns retired in 2015 and the company was closed. Several of their yarns were taken over by Hikoo yarns, but not this one. We closed our shop around the same time and have many of our yarns here and elsewhere online; for some reason, this one hasn't been listed until now so we still have it available in adequate quantities for many of your projects. Frog Tree Alpaca Sport Melange is the most super soft yarn: of course, it's 100% ALPACA with a luxurious soft hand that's like knitting with butter. This sport weight yarn is perfect for anything and everything that is next to your skin like warm, cozy sweaters, hats & accessories. It can be used for felted projects as well. This yarn differs from Frog Tree Alpaca Sport in that it is a heathered yarn with hints of other colors throughout each skein. Frog Tree Alpaca Sport (not Melange) is solid colors with no heathering. Fiber Content: 100% ALPACA Weight: Sportweight Gauge: 5.75 - 6.5 sts = 1" on US 2 - 5 Weight/Yardage: 50g/128yds Care: Hand Wash, Dry Flat. Safer to wash with a Wool Wash product. Not a "washable" wool. This will shrink under the right circumstances. Country Of Origin: Peru Colourway 914 ALERT: At the time of this listing, we have 15 skeins of this colourway in stock, but they are from 2 different dyelots. We have ten skeins of dyelot 0454 and five skeins of dyelot 4922. The three closeup pictures are of the 2 different dyelots, one picture of each separate dyelot and one picture with skeins from both dyelots in it. We cannot tell the difference between them but provided you with the pictures so you can decide for yourself if you are interested in more than ten skeins of this colourway. As this yarn sells, we will fill smaller orders from the lot of 5. If you order more than five, we will fill from dyelot 0454. Shipping is discounted.
