French Faience Plate Les Islettes Floral Bouquet Combed Edge Antique or Vtg "B"

Description: Due to the increase in volume of packages being shipped through the US Postal System, shipping times have occasionally been longer than those estimated by either eBay or the USPS tracking tool. Antique or possibly vintage, faience (tin-glazed earthenware) decorative plate,measuring roughly 9" (nearly 23cm), in diameter, witha central hand-painted design of a floral bouquet in blue, green, yellow, and puce with a combed edge (also in puce)the colors in the photos with the white background are closer to the colors of the edge as it appears in person ... the black backgroundis making the puce (brownish/purple), edge look a bit too orange. This is unsigned, which makes dating this plate with accuracydifficult. From the shapes of the stilt marks, the glaze and the degree of wear, I would say late 19th century. Should you like two of these, I will be listing the companion tothis plate as well (it is plate "A"). There are no chips, cracks in the earthenware, or repairs ...but there is wear to the painted design (one tip of a flower petal is actually missing - viewable in photo # 8),and along the edge decoration. Much crazing to the white glaze on the front and back.These crazing cracks in the glaze can be seen in just about every photo.There are some glaze flakes on the edge of the plate ...some only through the colored glaze, but a few are down tothe earthenware (the largest is shown in photo #13and the next largest one is visible in photo #14).The oblong stilt marks on the back of the plate are rough.There is a glaze skip on the back of the plateare also some small "pore-like" holes in the white glaze here and there (front and back). Measurements: just about 9" (nearly 23cm) diameterabout 1" (about 2.5cm) high - depending where measured Should you wish to buy more than one item/lot from me, I will be happy to package items together so that you can save on shipping charges as longas the items will travel together safely.
