Description: Spirit of Transportation is a 1920 Maxfield Parrish antique print. Maxfield Parrish was commissioned (along with 12 other artists) by the Clark Equipment Company to paint their interpretations of "The Spirit of Transportation". In 1925 the Clark Equipment Company wanted to have the piece reproduced as an art print for framing and Parrish consented to having the trucks (seen in the upper left side) removed. At some point later, someone titled the altered print "The Royal Gorge" which Parrish found amusing! Spirit of Transportation is 18.5" x 22.5" x 1.5" in framed size. The inside frame size is 15.5" x 19.5". Chuck had this piece hanging in his Maxfield Parrish room in his home and it is in excellent condition with beautiful color. The frame's corners are tight, and it has minimal scratches. The frame and backing paper are original. Chuck Olson CollectionChuck Olson spent over 40 years collecting and traveling the United States in search of unique vintage and antique prints.
