This is a great all-purpose adult caddis pattern, but also can be a great diving or 'ovipositing' caddis pattern if fished and swing "wet". THIS IS A TRUE PRODUCER!!! The Bulky CDC keeps it up high on the water all day. It is a great general attractor or searching pattern as well. This fly has many layers and simulates the detail of the bug well!! It is a chunky, high-floating Caddis imitation tied with a thick, full CDC wing. The CDC also helps this fly to land slightly softer than a traditional Elk Hair caddis and maintains a more lifelike profile on the water. As such, it’s a great pattern for tailwater fisheries, spring creeks, and other rivers where the water is low or clear (or both) where you can have the most finicky fish and this one gets them every time.
