Furthermore, NAC plays a role of primary importance in the maintenance of adequate glutathione synthesis (GSH) levels thus contributing to the cellular protection from harmful agents as in the case of acetaminophen poisoning. Due to this mechanism of action, NAC is also indicated as a specific antidote in acetaminophen / paracetamol poisonings. INDICATIONS: Treatment of respiratory affections characterized by thick & viscous hypersecretions (thick mucus or phlegm): acute or chronic bronchitis & its exacerbations, pulmonary emphysema, mucoviscidosis & bronchiectasis.
