Description: This lot is the first three issues of “Go Girl!” comics created and written by Trina Robbins (1938-2024) and illustrated by Anne Timmons. They were souvenirs of the 2001 International Paper Doll Convention held in Eugene, Oregon. All three are signed by Anne to my mom. Paper doll and superheroine Lindsay and her fashions are on the back covers of #2 and #3. Reference to Katy Keene/Barb Rausch in Comic #2. They are in very good condition and have been filed for 23 years. Colors by Christopher Butcher and lettering by Sean Glumace. Rear cover artwork by Trina Robbins. Mrs. Robbins produced a comic book in 1970 put out entirely by women about female cartoon characters and superheroines. She was the first woman to draw a full issue of “Wonder Woman” in 1986. Her paper dolls and fashions have been in paper doll magazines such as “Cornerstones”. In the 1960’s, she was a fashion designer and owned a retail store. She created a dress in 1966 that was worn by singer Cass Elliott. Comic books have copyrights of 2000 and 2001. This set would be a great addition to anyone’s collection who likes Trina Robbins’ variety of work and anyone who advocates for girl power. (Part of the information about Trina Robbins from an article in “The Washington Post” by Harrison Smith, April 12th, 2024.) Thanks for your interest. Combined shipping available.
