Just as disco and the lava lamp became all the societal rage, the fire service saw its own fads and trends. A new generation of aggressive fire apparatus manufacturers led by Pierce and Emergency-One began to overtake their forefathers and the pool of builders producing high quality apparatus in numbers became considerably more populated. There is a little edge wear and a light 1-1/2" crease on the bottom right corner of the cover (see the scan), and a Christmas inscription on the top of the title page, but book is still in very good condition. No collection of books on the history of fire trucks is complete without this one. Check out the scan for the cover and so you can judge the condition for yourself (unlike many other booksellers, who post generic scans, the book in my scan is the one you will get).
