Description Main Features - Desert Sand finish and gold hardware. - Medium jumbo size with 22 frets. - Fingerboard binding. - Equipped with USA-made “American Vintage (Pure Vintage) '65 Single-Coil Jazzmaster” pickups. - Basswood body replaced with alder body. Finish is “Desert Sand” finish, which is rare in Japan. As the name suggests, the characteristic color like desert sand is a popular color used for VINTERAII “JM” and “DuoSonic” made in Mexico. The metal parts, including the pickguard, are all gold, which is a perfect match with the gold parts. The pickup covers and control knobs are black, which gives the impression of being tightened up. This coloring is often used by the Fender Custom Shop. The body is made of alder to emphasize the vintage-like thick and sticky midrange, while the regular model is made of basswood. The neck has also been changed from the regular model, with a relatively flat 9.5” radius ‘U’ shaped maple neck as on the regular model, but with 22 frets instead of the usual 21, and ‘Medium Jumbo’ frets for a more versatile look. The “Medium Jumbo” frets have been changed from the usual 21st fret to the 22nd fret for more versatile playability. The neck binding has been wrapped for an even more luxurious appearance. The key to the sound is the “American Vintage '65 Single-Coil Jazzmaster” pickups made in the USA, which are used in the American Vintage series and other guitars. The sound of the Jazzmaster is clear and crisp, with a vintage-like fat and sweet “emo” sound! This is one guitar that can be used immediately! The USA sound in a Japanese-made guitar with solid construction is truly a gem that can only be found in the Factory Special Run.
