Factory Specifications: Comments: This is a nice flush mount design retractable OEM type antenna. It will fit a variety of vehicles and is also good for custom installations. We like this style and use it as a replacement whenever we can. Take note: It does have a fixed angle mount of 52 degrees and specifically this is an aftermarket replacement for VW Beetle, Buses, Transportadores, Audi Avant, Citroen CX, Peugeot 104 204 304 404, Renault 12, and Toyota Starlet among some others. The mast pushes completely down keeping it from getting damaged and/or vandalized. A key is inserted into the top and it is simply pulled up. You can then extend to any length up to 39 inches. If you lose the key it's not big deal. A small screw driver will work fine. It's a great antenna that stays safe in parking lots and car washes (as long as you remember to push it down). It also makes a good choice if you want to replace a power antenna with something that looks similar but is manual. The most important thing to remember when installing a new antenna is to make sure it is properly grounded to metal on the chassis! If not, it will not work. In an install where it will not be mounted to a grounded chassis it is best to run a separate ground wire direct to the battery.
