Description: Name: Rafinesquina (Brachiopods), Isorophus cincinnatiensis (Edrioasteroids), OthersAge: Upper Ordovician Formation: Fairmont FormationLocation: Near Cincinnati, OhioSize: Plate is 8 inches across! This is a very cool plate of fossils. It is a large slab with MANY Rafinesquina brachiopods and THREE fine specimens of Isorophus cincinnatiensis edrioasteroids sitting atop two of the brachiopods. The large brachiopods are inflated and exhibit very fine detail - the fine plications of the shells are easily seen. The brown-colored brachiopods contrast beautifully with the grey matrix. The brachs and edrios are wonderfully displayed on the natural plate of shale that also contains two different bryozoan types and other species of brachiopods. This is a very collectible Ordovician "Sea Floor Bottom" fossil from the Ordovician of Ohio.A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS.com is included with this specimen. Note: International customers may have to pay a duty at Customs - every country's rules are different.
