Description: For sale is this Exquisite, Vintage 14K SOLID GOLD Waltham Antique Pocket Watch. It is approximately 128 - 132 years old. The case alone, without the movement, weighs almost exactly 30 grams. It is solid 14K yellow gold, which gives the case alone a melt value of around $1,500 dollars. This is FAR too nice to even consider scrapping, I am just giving that demonstrate that this is a great investment, in addition to being a beautiful collector's item. I collect vintage watches and rarely see one of this quality and condition. It is one of the nicest watches I've come across of this era. **Please watch the video to see the condition of the watch and its case** The watch movement is a Waltham, model 1890. It is a Size 6s, 15 Jewels, and weighs approximately 57 Grams including case and movement. The crystal was not covering the face when I bought it. The approximate weight including the crystal would be 60 grams. Without it, it weighs approximately 57 grams. The case is solid 14K gold. It is stamped multiple locations as 14k fine gold and weighs almost exactly 30 grams without the movement. The case is a very ornate N.G. Wood & Sons Full Hunter. These cases are rare, and unlike the BWCC, Philadelphia, and other common case companies, I almost never come across N.G. Wood & Sons Cases. They are of exquisite quality. It is a 3 lid, full hunter case with dust cover. All thick, deeply engraved, solid gold. Although it is stamped in multiple locations, It has also been acid tested and tested at 14k or higher. The case in is wonderful condition for its age, with a few small blemishes. See the video for the best representation of it. It opens and closes smoothly. It has a hairline scratch on the inner dust cover under the back lid. This shown in the pictures. It could easily be polished out. The face is in excellent condition. It has gorgeous, deep sapphire blue hands that turn smoothly. Crystal is not included over the face. The movement is not currently running. The watch will need to be serviced. I do know why it doesn't function. The case has beautiful gold etching with a design of a shield with flower wreath on one side and rose and flowers on the other. It is a truly exquisite case. I hate to part with this masterpiece. I am fairly firm on the price, because it won't hurt my feelings to just keep it if it doesn't sell. Shipping will be USPS priority Flate Rate. Shipping cost includes insurance for full value of item.
