Description: Beautifully illustrated 1888 European Countries travel/history book edited by F. K. Warren. Published by the Aldine Book Co. in Boston. Covers several major European countries Interior pages in overall excellent condition with a small number of pages (text/illustration section) having scattered age related spots. Most of the pages are stain free and in wonderful shape. The outer (side/top) edges of the Indigo Blue book still have their gold gilt edging which is 95%+ intact. There are numerous intricately detailed wood engravings covering France, Spain, The German Empire, Norway, Rome, and Great Britain. The pages are printed on a heavy gauge paper stock with the bindings tight and secure, and there is no mildew odor. From a smoke free, climate friendly home. The hardcover has some age related wear mainly along edges, at the corners, and the top/bottom spine areas. But it is in overall great condition considering it was published in 1888. The pages aren’t numbered, but the book is substantial at 2.5 pounds. 12” x 9.5” x 1/2”. Please refer to photos for quality and condition.
