Description: You will receive a packet of approximately 150-200 Seeds (1/2 measured teaspoon) from our Ethiopian Kale plants growing in sunny Florida. Home grown naturally using regenerative & organic growing methods with lots of love and zero chemicals, pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. You will receive fresh viable seeds ready to plant. Growing Info & TipsThis delicious leafy green originated in East Africa, Ethiopia. Ethiopian kale is a heat tolerant brassica, but it still prefers to grow during the cooler months of the year. Here in Florida, it grows great in the spring and fall when the weather is warm and not too hot. The plant grows to be tall and bushy and produces a lot of leaves. The leaves are nice and tender. For Planting the Seeds: Start the seeds in early spring or late summer to early fall. Plant the seeds 1/4 inch deep in pre-moistened potting mix in a small pot, or directly in the ground. Keep moist but not soggy. Seeds can take several days to germinate so be patient. Space plants 12-14ββ apart. It takes approximately 20-25 days to maturity for baby leaf and 35-50 days to maturity. Taste and PreparationThe hearty leaves have a very complex flavor with overtones of peppery spice, without being too strong. They are milder than mustard greens and other kales. Delicious picked at the baby size in under 3 weeks. The leaves can be eaten raw or cooked. Raw leaves go very nicely in a salad mix. Mature leaves are very nice lightly cooked. Great added to daily salads, soups, stir-fries etc. Please Note: All of my seeds are fresh and viable. Growing plants from seeds is fun! The majority of the time it is a success but sometimes itβs not. This just is the way it is with nature and gardening. I hope you experience success with all the seeds, however because I am not there to plant them, I cannot be responsible for germination failure due to improper planting or climate conditions etc. I do include a detailed note with planting advice with your order to help ensure your success. Shipping of Seeds: To keep the cost down for everyone, I ship my seeds via the Postal Service, USPS, by First Class Letter (a stamped envelope).
